Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation's Postgraduate Institute Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, (PGI-YCMH) Pimpri, Pune is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) and has received Letter of permission (LOP) from MCI to start Post Graduate Medical Courses (MD/MS) in 9 subjects from Academic year 2019-2020 & 2020 onwards.

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) took a decision in 2013 to start Postgraduate teaching Course in the YCM hospital.

Accordingly PGI-YCMH was established in 2013 at PCMC with appointment of teaching faculty, specialists, super-specialists, senior residents and application to Medical Council of India & Maharashtra University of Health Science for approval to start Post graduate courses in General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Orthopaedic, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Pathology, ENT, Psychiatry & Radiology.

This is the first endeavour in India, in the field of Medical Education, which is a new dimension in the growth of standalone State Government (Municipal Corporation) Hospitals with > 750 beds.

Approval for starting the Postgraduate Courses w.e.f. the academic year 2018-19 has been obtained from Director Medical Education & Research (DMER) Mumbai, and MUHS, Nashik for starting PG Courses(MD/MS) in above subjects. This Institute is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, www.muhsnashik.com
