History:

The department of psychiatry at YashwantraoChavan Memorial Hospital,Pimpriwhich formally started functioning in 1993,till date has been serving the patients not only in Pimpri-Chinchwad but also from many areas nearby.A team of full time appointed psychiatrist,clinical psychologist and psychiatry social worker provided various services in the department. Starting with Out patient facility and indoor admissions, the departmental activities gradually increased to Specialty clinics mainly for deaddiction and child psychiatry.

Milestones:

1993 – Department of Psychiatry started functioning at YCMH

1999 – 1] Clinical psychologist joined the team

              2] CPS-DPM Course started

2001 – Biofeedback(Pulse, Temp & GSRmonitoring) & Relaxation services started.

2004 - 1] Functioning of Psychiatry social worker

             2] Child Guidance clinic

2009 – New Equipments purchased- Brief pulse ECT machine with EEG & ECG monitoring  -New biofeedback machine with EEG & EMG monitoring

2011 – Computerization of OPD services

2017 – Proposed Post graduate Institute under PCMC for starting M.D  Psychiatry at YCMH
